It’s true, when it rains, it pours. Fiber teaching opportunities continue to pop up in all sorts of places. I recently met with a lady from Buffalo Jump Sip and Paint in Billings to schedule some class times. One class will be a Learn to Knit class, the other will be a Knit and Sip session where you can bring your own projects. The upcoming schedule is posted below.
A few friends in our community met last week for our first knitting group. I’ll meet with one of them to schedule some classes at her alpaca ranch. We’re excited about expanding both our businesses and opportunities.
It is interesting that what I thought I’d be doing with writing and fiber arts is not happening as much as classes are. I have knitting patterns coming down the line, a book to edit, fiber to prep and sell but those opportunities are slower to come than the teaching. It reminds me of something I read recently.
In the book, Spiritual Rhythms by Mark Buchanan, he writes, “We crave balance but need rhythm.” Instead of seeking a balanced life, we should instead seek to find and keep the rhythm of our life. This makes so much sense to me as balance is something I fail at. When I do have some balance in my life, I’m easily thrown off by crisis, changes, opportunities and the like. But rhythm? That’s possible. When a new cog is thrown in, I can see it and find a way to walk in the new rhythm that’s created. And these class opportunities have thrown a delightful cog into the works.
What do you think, is life a balancing act or a rhythm to adapt to? Whichever you are working toward, may it include plenty of fiber and yarn.
